Privacy policy.

This site sets no cookies and runs no tracking. What you send through a form is used to reply to you.

Effective 19 October 2026

Who we are

This website, seralogix.com, is run by Seralogix, LLC, of Austin, Texas. Seralogix decides how the information you send through this site is used, which makes us responsible for it (the “controller,” in European data-protection law).

Seralogix makes Study Manager, software for planning, running and reporting preclinical studies. This policy covers the website only. Study Manager itself is covered by the agreement with each customer.

To reach us about anything on this page, use the contact page and mention privacy.

What this site collects

Only what you type into one of our two forms, and three things recorded with it.

  • The contact form: your name, email address and message.
  • The founding-site application: your name, email address, institution, role, the species and model you work with, a sentence about the study you would bring, and anything else you add.
  • With every submission: the time it arrived, a random reference number, and the internet (IP) address it was sent from.

What this site does not do

  • It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
  • It runs no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and loads no scripts, fonts or images from other companies.
  • It does not keep a log of the pages you visit.
  • It does not add you to a mailing list. We email you only to reply to what you sent.
  • We do not sell or rent what you send us, or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

How we use it, and why we may

  • A message through the contact form: to answer it. We rely on our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us.
  • A founding-site application: to consider it and to decide with you whether a partnership fits. This is a step you ask us to take before any agreement between us.
  • The IP address: to keep the forms free of abuse and spam, which is also a legitimate interest.

If a partnership goes ahead, what we hold from then on is governed by the agreement we sign together.

Where it is kept, and who handles it

Each submission is stored in a database in Seralogix’s Amazon Web Services account in the United States (US East, Northern Virginia), encrypted at rest. A copy is emailed to our company mailbox, which Google Workspace hosts; the email is sent through Amazon’s email service. Pages and forms are served over HTTPS only.

Amazon Web Services and Google handle this data for us, under their terms with Seralogix, and may not use it for their own purposes. Within Seralogix, only the people who answer enquiries can read it.

If you write from outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and what you send is stored and handled there. The law where you live may protect personal data differently from US law. We apply this policy to your information wherever you are.

How long we keep it

Each submission is deleted automatically 24 months after it arrives. The database keeps rolling backups for 35 days, so a deleted submission has left those within 35 days of its deletion. If you become a founding site or a customer, what we need to keep from then on is covered by our agreement with you.

The emails we exchange with you are kept as ordinary business correspondence and deleted when we no longer need them for the purposes above.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us, free of charge, to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it, or use it only in limited ways, while a question about it is resolved.

Making a request

Ask through the contact page, using the email address you sent us before, so we can tell the request is yours. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data-protection authority, though we would like the chance to put things right first.

Children

This site is for research professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top of the page. If a change affects how we use what you have already sent, we say so at the top of the page.
